Famous man - in St. John’s harbour with Sir Humphrey Gilbert in 1583, fought the Spanish Armada in 1588 in charge of four ships, held Admiralty Court in Newfoundland. And the mermaid. Got a town named after him. In this book he says, Everybody, come to Newfoundland.
