When we are enveloped in silence we often hear the most. Through the reverend silence of the Latin Mass we hear the communing with The Almighty. We hear the one voice off all the Angels chanting “Holy, Holy, Holy” and we add our own. In the loudness of our high tech world, it is nice to take a break and worship through the Latin Mass as our previous generations and ancestors did. If you would like to hear in the silence, the Latin Mass is offered at 5:00 pm Sundays at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Smithville Cres, St. John’s. Latin-English translation booklets provided. My dad turns 80 this September and I’d like to take him and his 75 year old brother out to visit their resettled community of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay. Its just a few kilometers off the coast from Salvage on the Eastport Peninsula. I was wondering if there is anyone with a sizable boat that can take out anywhere from 6 to 12 people depending on time of week and family members availability. Please contact if you are interested to discuss details.
