Between Gander and Appleton at Joe Batts Pond, Central/Interior
This cabin on Joe Batts Pond is 10 km on the TCH from Gander and then an easy 8
km drive off the TCH. It is a wonderful place to relax at any time of the year
and in all weather conditions. The cabin is accessible by car or truck for much
of the year. Every winter more of the side roads in this cabin area are being
cleared of snow by cabin owners so this cabin can be made accessible by vehicle
all year round.
The cabin area is great for summer activities such as boating, water skiing,
kayaking, canoeing, trout fishing (and a major salmon river [the Gander River]
is a short distance away), riding ATVs or dirt bikes, campfires, reading,
relaxing, listening to the loons, walking etc. Autumn brings the fall colours
and hunting moose, etc. just outside the cabin area if that interests you. It
is great for winter activities such as snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice
fishing, snow shoeing, sliding or an outdoor fire in the shelter of the trees
which surround this property. The groomed snowmobile trail is at one end of Joe
Batts Pond and there are many forest access roads and trails nearby for
snowmobile and ATV.
This cozy, rustic, spotlessly clean two bedroom cabin (24 feet x 28 feet plus
screen room and upstairs loft with the second bedroom and a storage area) is

I have for sale a set of Bob Sleighs. These sleighs are quality built and has
very little use. All plates and bolts are factory bought. The runners are 4"
wide and is made of Juniper. The beam is 6"x5" and is Juniper. The draw bars
are factory made and cost $200 each. The runners are covered with 3/8"x4"
Teflon fastened with stainless steel screws. The horns are almost 49" wide. I
built it so I could lay a sheet of plywood on it's flat between the horns.
The sleighs are heavy duty and will stand up to any use you want to throw at
them. They are very easy to haul. I used to haul full loads of fire wood or
logs with a Grand Touring 600 etec with no problem.
To purchase all the material to build these sleighs would probably cost you
what I am asking for them not counting the Juniper parts and the labour that
goes into building them.
