Florsheim 16803 Brown Apron Derbies in 12D - Made in Canada!
ITEM DETAILS
These lovely Florsheim Brown Apron Derbies are now available. This is a vintage Canadian-made 16803 model in a harder-to-find 12D. The shoes are in excellent, near-new condition.
Some history: Florsheim is one of the best-known shoemakers in the world, with a history dating back to 1892. At some time in the late 1950s (1959, I believe), the company that then controlled Florsheim also acquired the greatest of ALL the Canadian shoemakers - the John McHale Company of London, ON - and the McHale plant subsequently began producing the Canadian Florsheim products too. I've never been able to find out exactly when Florsheim closed this plant and ceased Canadian production, but I'd guess it was the 1980s or 1990s. These derbies feature the desired Goodyear-welting of quality footwear, thick double-leather soles, beautiful exteriors, half-leather-lined insoles and padding under the tongue. Grab these high-quality Canadian shoes for less than some crappy pair of Chinese-made shoes from the Avalon Mall! Shoe trees NOT included.
