Fri, Jan 1, 8:09 AM
Holyrood, St. John's, Avalon Peninsula
Hello!
I'm a highly experienced, independent/freelance Respite Worker (I am not an
agency worker) living and working in St. John's, & its suburbs, & Holyrood.
I've complete CPI Non-Violent, Crisis Intervention training, and I have
extensive experience caring for adult individuals with developmental delays,
anger/impulse control issues, brain injuries, and social and economic
challenges.
I have experience working with children "in care" for a local agency, and I've
worked independently for Eastern Health as a "Self Directed Babysitter" for a
child with complex behaviours.
Additionally I have experience working with school age children for the YWCA
(many years), and, I've worked with 'teens/youth with complex mental needs' for
Choices For Youth.
As well, I have private experience teaching drums to pre-school children.
I have great compassion for my clients, and in caring for them I emphasize
relationship building, and working to address their primary concerns at their
personal, specific level of need, at their pace and speed, and with focus on
their interests and activity.
I make the supreme effort to offer my clients a most personalized,
compassionate, familial experience - the kind of experience I would approve of
for my own Mother, Wife, or child.
I work closely with parents, social workers, teachers, landladys/landlords,
Newfoundland & Labrador Housing, Eastern Health (Community Services), and many
other agencies and community players in an effort to obtain the very best care,
resources, and quality of life for my clients.
Please feel free to contact me via text, at: (709) 631.7193, any time day or
night, to discuss you or your loved-one's needs.
Thank you for reading!
Best Regards,
John
