    Rockcliffe Children's Centre is a well established licensed childcare centre located in the West End. We care for children ages 18 months to 12 years of age and are currently hiring Trainee - Level 4 Early Childhood Educators. Applicants must possess a genuine passion for working with children, must be enthusiastic, reliable, and have excellent communication skills. Applicants must also be able to create and maintain a successful learning environment and demonstrate compassion, mindfulness and empathy when interacting with children. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: •Develop and implement childcare programs based on our centre philosophy, promoting the physical, emotional, cognitive and social development of children. •Lead activities through storytelling, teaching songs and providing opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity. •Utilize positive guidance techniques. •Plan for and maintain both indoor and outdoor environments that ensure the health, security and well being of children. •Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children through daily written and visual observations. and discuss progress or problems with supervisors, parents and other staff members when required. •Communicate effectively with co-workers as well as parents with the goal of ensuring that each child reaches their potential Qualifications include •AECENL Certification (Trainee to Level 4) with the willingness to upgrade to meet government requirements (Trainee Level) •Current Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check •Current Emergency Level First Aid •Up to date Immunization Record •Experience is an asset At Rockcliffe Children's centre we offer: •competitive wages •group benefits (medical, dental, vision care) •paid snow days •flexibility for appointments •scheduled programming time with programming support from centre management.
