Hey there thanks for viewing my ad, I’m a marine diesel mechanic and working with this trade for 5 years now and I’m looking to work to get my red seal heavy duty/equipment mechanic certification to work on land as I don’t think sailing is for me anymore. So I am looking for a shop or company that is willing to hire me for work and sign off on my hours so I can move from the water to land and register for my apprenticeship, as I need a job offer and signed agreement before I can register! Will work any hours necessary while I am home on my 6 weeks off as I’m used to working weird and long hours, sometimes more then 12 a day, and if the job is right then I would like to stay fulltime. I am a hard worker and I can provide a resume at request with references if need be. I have knowledge of pairing generators on and offline,I can also operate most cranes as well as I have used them many times on board my ship, gear driven impeller pumps, different types of cooling systems such as shell and tube or plate coolers, I have helped do 2 complete rebuilds on the 2500 HP marine Diesel engines here on the ship I work on currently and I’m a hands on learner who will take notes and do the best I can and try to learn as quick as I can. I also have experience with welding and torch cutting, as well as many other things, such as mechanical knowledge as I do my own work while I’m home on my own vehicles for family and friends, have assisted engineers here on the ship with pumps, coolers, oil systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, rebuilding of engines, pumps, starters etc! Done a little bit of everything! one of my weaknesses does happen to be electrical as I don’t deal with it much while im here at work but I have done minor repairs. I also have my own transportation if needed. If this is something that interests you please dont hesitate to contact me, thanks for viewing! If you can’t get me by phone please send an email as cell service may be spotty for me at the moment!
