For sale: Sigma SM-6 Mandolin (F style)
In excellent condition, has sunburst finish, double bound 2 point F-5 style
body, solid spruce top, maple back/sides and neck, bound rosewood fretboard, 24
frets, adjustable rosewood bridge, bound headstock, rosewood peghead overlay
with pearl “Sigma Mandolin Est. 1970” and flower inlays, gold tuners with
pearloid buttons and mounted pickguard.
Purchased from Elderly Instruments and professionally set up and adjusted,
this mandolin has excellent action and nice bright tone. Instrument has been
well looked after with regular cleaning, polishing, adjusting, etc. Very little
play wear from gigging and was mainly used for recording purposes.
Modifications include new F-style tuners installed ($100.00 value) and
original pickguard has been re-installed. Inside manufacturers label is torn
but model number is clearly visible and identifiable. Originally had Fishman
M-200 pickup installed, leaving a small hole behind bridge where wire went
through but no trouble to fill hole or install same pickup again.
In terms of extras, the mandolin comes with extra set of F-style tuners
(original old ones that were replaced), a hand carved bone bridge (for a
different sound altogether), new D’Addario J-75 strings on instrument and a
heavy duty TKL 8852 hardshell case ($100.00 value) with plush lining and
