A Real Piece of Newfoundland Music History !! I purchased this unit from the original owner around 1985 . This well known south coast Newfoundland recording studio owner and artist at the time bought it new, He only used it for about a year and then upgraded his studio to get more tracks . This was used to record some very popular songs back then that are still popular today . It's been in my possession ever since , is very clean , well cared for and maintained in a non smoking / pet free home . And always covered when not in use to keep dust out. That is of the utmost importance to an analogue recorder.. I also have the original owner/maintenance manual . I've used it for occasional home recording and is in excellent cosmetic & working condition. I recently checked all the meters and lights .. Everything lights up and all meters work . Everything worked fine the last time I used it . I replaced the drive belt and pinch roller about 10-12 years ago and only used it once after that. This unit needs to be used to be appreciated. . these were very common in recording studios back in the 80's.. It is very rare to get one of these in such good condition as you can see by the pictures...especially the picture of the heads .That tells the tale.. They are near mint from very light use over the years....Not many of these left around.... Never planned to sell.. Only considering selling because I am not using it and to fund another guitar purchase while I have it in my mind... Will possibly need to be calibrated for today's modern tapes .This process is outlined in the manual but it is advisable to have someone who is familiar with the process to do it. . Also included is a head demagnetize tool and a take-up reel. ..Analogue recording is not for everyone .If you are considering this you have an idea what is involved....... sold as is....
