How fishermen and women, not missionaries, spread Methodism in Newfoundland as
they moved about - out to the islands and headlands in summer, down on the
Labrador, and along the western shore, and up the bays to their tilts in
winter. Much on Grand Bank, Burin, Port aux Basques, Little Bay Islands,
Twillingate, Change Islands, Fogo, Salvage, Bonavista, Carbonear, and smaller
towns such as Sound Island, Haystack, Flat Islands, Bird Island Cove, and
Grates Cove. The focus on the people, not on church buildings and clergy.
Calvin Hollett, Shouting, Embracing, and Dancing with Ecstasy.
