For Sale Remington Wing Master 12 gauge shotgun, with 28 inch barrel in excellent condition, with only a couple scratches on the stock. For 2 3/4 inch shells. Maybe less than twenty boxes of shells fired. I bought this firearm in 1971. So I was not sure what price to ask for the gun until I dropped into the gun shop in Lewisporte this summer. Apparently, my gun was made when Remington made some of the best guns in the world. And the Wing Master version is a step above the regular model 870. The Remington company was bought out a few years ago, and now the guns are made overseas and the quality is gone down, according to the gun shop staff. Anyone buying a used gun today usually is looking for the older models in good shape. I googled the difference between model 870 and Wing Master 870: "The 870 has a matte finish. The Wingmaster has a polished blued finish. Wingmaster internal components are high quality and milled, not stamped or mold injected. Internals are polished and much smoother performing than an 870". Here is another quote: "The WingMaster Model 870 is so smooth and reliable that today - more than 60 years after its introduction - it's still the standard by which all pump shotguns are measured.
