Vintage Zenith - Circle of Sound Stereo Speakers 100 Watts
Vintage speakers - Zenith - Circle of Sound Stereo Speakers 100 Watts from 1968. While it's not written on them, I've been told they are 6 ohms so you will need a stereo that can handle a minimum of 4 or 6 ohm speakers to use them. Stereos that say on the back a minimum of 8 ohms may not work properly with them.
Cassette in photo for size comparison. Photo is of actual speakers.
A 360 degree sound field from each speaker from 1968 around the time the original BOSE speakers were first designed. This was Zenith's attempt at make a speaker system that surrounded you in a wall of sound. They can be used as floor standing speakers as Zenith shows in the ad's but I prefer them on end tables or low book shelves. They are only 13.5 inches high and a little over 10 inches wide.
You don't see these around very often and when you do, it's the lowered powered 25 Watt, 50 Watt or 80 Watt versions.
Makes a great conversation piece as well. Purchased from a stereo collector approximately 6 to 8 years ago. This original round or tube version is from 1968 and Zenith changed to the square box version in 1971 and 1972 which is also hard to find.
I also included vintage ads of this speaker system included in a complete Zenith Stereo system advertisement.
