Wood/Canvas Canoe - wood and Canvas Restoration
Tremblay, 19’5” Wood/Canvas Canoë. Made by Canots Tremblay in St Félicien, Québec in 1973. Width 45”, depth at center 16”. The cedar is in good shape, some planking and a 2 ribs will need replacing. If you are not familiar with canvassing and filling, you can always use the internet or refer to books by Jerry Stelmok. “Building The Maine Guide Canoe” or “The Wood Canvas Canoe” by Jerry Stelmok and Rollin Thurlow, plus many more resources. I sanded and varnished a small portion of a rib, so you would get an idea of what a full inside restoration would look like.
