Wanted, Part time / Casual truck driving work. (Transport Truck) I am a Journeyman Automotive Mechanic but I also have a Class One driver’s license with 9 and 9A endorsements. I graduated from Canadian Training Institute in Bay Roberts in 2013 and earned a Diploma in Commercial Transport. I am a drug free, “By the book” driver with a completely clean drivers abstract and just had my medical completed this year for DMV. I have great respect for people’s equipment. My mechanical background and past driving experience has given me great respect for these trucks. I have experience hauling Sea Cans (Expandable Chassis), dry vans, High beds and shingle racks. I have experience with Eaton 10 Speed, Super 10, 13 and 18 speed transmissions. I also have experience with the Mack “M Drive” automatic transmission. I do have experience in winter driving in Newfoundland. A Full time truck driving job did not work out for me because of the amount of time I was away from home, but I truly did love driving the trucks. I put my family first and I currently have a full time Monday to Friday Mechanics job which I am happy with and don’t intend to change, but I find myself missing driving. So, what I am looking for is to meet a company, an owner operator, etc; Someone that may have a load here and there on a weekend that they need covered. Someone who I can call when I have free time to see if they have anything they need delivered. I’m not looking for a full time job. This all being said, I would certainly prefer “Pin to Pin” loads (transfers, etc.). I enjoy highway driving, but given the time frame I have to work with (weekends) it would have to be on the Island of Newfoundland.
