Suspended Account/Licence Scam Notice
Some users have reported receiving a phishing scam text and/or email message impersonating NL Classifieds and requesting personal information such as usernames, passwords and driver's licence information.
NLClassifieds.com will never request information like usernames/passwords or personal information through these methods. If you have any doubts about any message you have received from NL Classifieds or if you feel you may have been affected, contact us directly to confirm it is an authentic message via e-Mail: email@example.com or Call: (709) 237-7300 and we will help you.
Some users have reported receiving a phishing text and/or email. The scammer is impersonating NL Classifieds in order to find out your username, password, driver’s licence and other personal info. NL Classifieds will NEVER request personal info using these methods. Furthermore, we will NEVER ask for your password in any way, EVER!

In the latest attempt to avoid our safety measures and work around our efforts to protect users, the scammers are contacting users via text messages and phone calls. The scammers say that they are interested in their items (most commonly pets) after which they claim that NL Classifieds has emailed them stating that you (the user) are a scammer.
In this situation, the real scammer claims you are accused of being a scammer by NL Classifieds, so they can later contact you impersonating NL Classifieds and gain access to your account.
In the latest attempts, scammers are texting/phoning users saying that they're interested in their item for sale. Then they’ll say that NL Classifieds has identified YOU as a scammer. This allows them to follow up with a fake email from NL Classifieds saying you must provide your username and password.
Remember that we will NEVER ask for your personal info this way, and NEVER ask for your password in any way, EVER. Call us at (709) 237-7300 right away.
With the increased popularity of e-transfers, there has been an increase in reports of scammers asking for a deposit or payment in advance. NL Classifieds strongly advises against sending money without viewing or securing the item for sale.
If a seller is trying to get you to send them money to hold an item this should be a red flag.
"I can trust them because they are local." Not TRUE! Many of the scammers lately appear to be local people right here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
